  • What did you do this past week?

There was nothing much different from other weeks. Besides studying and doing assignments, I did cleaning my room and made some small changes to my room. I slightly changed the way the furniture was arranged in my room which inspired me to work. Our SWE group also had the very first meeting and we finished the proposal in that meeting.

  • What’s in your way?

I have an exam next week so I need to review a lot of thing for that exam. My group also have not started on the project yet. We need to gather some more resources and start working on this as soon as possible.

  • What will you do next week?

Our SWE should have a few more meeting and start working on the project. I also need to work on other classes’ assignment and prepare for an exam coming next week. I also need to practice some more leetcode question to prepare for my interviews.

  • What did you think of Paper #5: The Single Responsibility Principle?

I think it is a short but concise article about The Single Responsibility Principle. This priciple should be applied into system design or working on object oriented programming problems.

  • What was your experience of reduce and methods vs. functions? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have very little experience of reduce. The first time I have heard of that is in Symbolic Programming class. However, I do not find this concept is complicated, but I am surprised that how simple it is and how useful it can be applied to make complex problems become so simple and elegant. I have heard about the differences between methods vs. function but still not quiet confident with these things.

  • What made you happy this week?

I met my partner for SWE projects and they are very nice and friendly. I am glad that we finished our proposal and got it approved. I also feel that the temperature outside is less hotter so I can enjoy some hiking in the weekend.

  • What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I think most people had known about this but I just figured it out recently. Using incognito mode in web browser let you browse unlimited posts on Medium instead of only 3 posts per month if you are a free member.
