  • What did you do this past week?

Last week, I spent most of the time getting the needed softwares and tools for my Data Management class installed and learning how to use them.

  • What’s in your way?

I have not started the Collatz project yet so I gonna spending time working on it this weekend. I also need to finish my resume and a few personal projects so they could help me a lot in the up coming career fair.

  • What will you do next week?

I will start the Collatz project and the first assignment for my Machine Learning class. This assignment is also related to Python, I gonna use Jupyter which is basically a code editor and learning Panda which is a Python library. I also need revise my resume to prepare for the career fall next week and practice solving programming problems to prepare for interviews in the near future.

  • What did you think of Paper #1: Syllabus?

When I re-read the syllabus for making annotations, I realized that there were a few things that I had missed in the first time. There were also a few things that I got confused about. I was glad that most of my questions were anwsered by other students. The syllabus is well organized and categorized so it helped me a lot when I need to find information about the course.

  • What was your experience of assertions, unit tests, and coverage? (this question will vary, week to week)

I have a few experiences with these concepts from OOP class last year. However, I have not used much of them recently. I think it will be a good chance for me to review them. I think these concepts will become more and more important and helpful when doing group projects later this semester.

  • What made you happy this week?

I am happy about the weather this week. It was less hot and more comfortable to get outside. I am also happy because we have a long weekend this week because of Labor Day. I could spend some time with my friends in this weekend.

  • What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I figured out an app called Monitor Control which can be used to adjust brightness and volume of an external monitor from the primary machine, no need to try to look for buttons in that monitor.
