CS371P Spring 2021 — Week of 5 Apr — 11 Apr: Nhat Minh Nguyen
- What did you do this past week?
I have taken my first Covid-19 shot this week and I am so glad about that because I have done my part to protect the whole community. It such been a long time since the last time I visit the campus so it’s so great when I can visit the campus again. After being taken the shot, I even spend almost an hour walking around the campus and visiting familiar places I usually went to last year. I will be very happy if my classes back to normal this fall.
2. What’s in your way and what will you do next week?
The Darwin project is due in two days and I have not finished it yet so I have to work harder to finish it on time. I still have to do homework in other classes but I need to finished Darwin first.
3. If you read it, what did you think of the Why getter and setter methods are evil?
I don’t have enough time to read through all the details in the articles but the idea about not doing getter and setter is very new to me because I was taught using setter and getter in the past
4. What was your experience of vector, move constructor, move assignment, and allocator?
I do not have much experience with move constructor and move assignment. In the past, I hardly use move constructor and use move assignment a few times without understanding their underlying mechanism. However, they are very important and useful to know how it works when we have to build classes by ourselves. Dr. Downing has spent a lot of time talking about these things to help us get a better idea about these concepts.
5. What made you happy this week?
I had friends come to visit me earlier this week so we had a great time hangout together. We went outside for a picnic and had fun cooking together. In the end, we spent time playing some old video games which I have not played for a very long time. I hope we can do this more often.
